Good Steward Apps is an independent Christian software studio founded by Mark Van Laarhoven. After more than 20 years working professionally as a Software Solutions Architect, Mark has combined his experience in software development with his passion for God's Word to create apps and games that encourage Spirit-filled living for Christians of all ages.
The name Good Steward Apps reflects a simple conviction—that every gift, skill, and opportunity God gives us should be used faithfully for His Kingdom. Technology has incredible potential to educate, encourage, and inspire, and our goal is to develop software that helps people engage more deeply with Scripture and grow in their walk with Christ.
Our first release, ScripturePicture, has its roots over 30 years ago. In 1993, Mark created and published a Scripture-based poster that encouraged people to discover Bible verses hidden within an illustrated scene. Today that same concept has been reimagined as an interactive digital game, bringing a timeless idea to a new generation in a fun and engaging way.
Good Steward Apps is currently a one-person, independent development studio and retirement passion project. Every app is designed, developed, and maintained by Mark with a focus on quality, biblical integrity, and creating experiences that are genuinely worthwhile. Rather than simply entertaining, our aim is to produce software that points people toward Christ and encourages lasting spiritual growth.
Rooted in Scripture
Inspired by 2 Timothy 2:2, we believe that faithful discipleship is multiplied by passing truth on to others:
