This Privacy Policy explains how Good Steward ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game ScripturePicture (the "App"). We are based in Australia.

We have designed ScripturePicture to respect your privacy. In short: the App works entirely on your device and sends nothing about you anywhere — unless you choose to send us feedback or submit a voluntary leaderboard entry. (The App does automatically check for app updates; this involves no personal information — see Section 7.)

1. The short version

  • We do not collect personal information through normal gameplay.
  • There are no online accounts, and gameplay works fully offline (the App only contacts the internet to check for app updates, or when you choose to send feedback or a leaderboard entry).
  • We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies.
  • We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties.
  • Everything the App needs ships inside the App itself.
  • The only information we ever receive is what you choose to send: optional feedback (Section 4) or a voluntary world-leaderboard entry (Section 5).

2. Information we do not collect

During normal gameplay, ScripturePicture does not ask for, collect, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details.
  • Your location.
  • Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or cookies.
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostic data.
  • Any other personal or sensitive information.

The App does not require you to create an account or sign in. The only time we receive any information is if you voluntarily send it — through the "Leave Feedback" form (Section 4) or a world-leaderboard submission (Section 5).

3. Information stored only on your device

To let you play, the App saves certain game data locally on your device using your device's standard on-device storage. This includes things like:

  • Your player profile name(s) and game progress.
  • Scriptures and hidden items you have found.
  • Your score, badges, and best times.
  • Your settings, such as the chosen Bible language and music volume.

This information stays on your device unless you choose to submit a world-leaderboard entry (Section 5). We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the App, this locally stored data is removed along with it. Any player names you choose are entirely up to you — you do not need to use a real name.

4. Feedback you choose to send us

The App includes an optional "Leave Feedback" link. Tapping it opens a feedback page in your browser on our website, where you can enter a name, an optional email address, a star rating and a comment. Using it is entirely voluntary — you never have to.

When you press send, your feedback is submitted to our website and emailed to us. We use a third-party email delivery provider (Resend), acting on our behalf solely to deliver that message to our inbox; we do not store your feedback in any database. As with any visit to a website, our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) also processes standard technical request information, such as your IP address, in order to serve the page and protect against abuse.

The information we receive is the name, rating and comment you type, plus — only if you choose to provide it — your email address, which we use to reply to you. If you provide your email address or any other contact details:

  • They will never be sold, rented, or shared with any external party.
  • They will be used only to read and reply to your feedback, or to notify you about updates and new software from Good Steward.
  • You can ask us to delete your feedback at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 12.

5. World leaderboard (optional)

The App includes a voluntary World Leaderboard. Nothing is ever submitted automatically — an entry is sent only when you tap "Submit my best" in the App.

If you choose to submit, the App sends: your player name, your game statistics (score, scriptures found, Cackle Berries, badges), your chosen App language, and a random player identifier generated by the App (used so your own later submissions update the same entry; it does not identify your device or you). This entry is stored by us and the top-ranked entries are displayed publicly on this website's leaderboard.

  • Use a nickname, not your real name. The player name you submit will be visible to anyone on the internet.
  • Inappropriate names and impossible scores are rejected automatically, and we may remove any entry from the board at our discretion.
  • You can have your entry removed at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 12.
  • Leaderboard data is never sold, shared, or used for anything other than displaying the leaderboard.

6. Children's privacy

ScripturePicture is intended for a general audience of all ages and is suitable for everyone. It is not specifically directed at children, and the App does not knowingly collect personal information from children — gameplay collects nothing, and leaderboard submissions are voluntary, nickname-based and contain no contact details. If you believe a child has submitted personal information (for example, using a real name on the leaderboard), please contact us and we will remove it.

7. Third-party services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or data-collection services.

Over-the-air updates. To deliver bug fixes and improvements without waiting for a full app-store release, the App uses Expo's update service (EAS Update). When the App starts, it checks Expo's servers for a newer version. This request includes only standard technical information, such as your device platform, the App version, and your IP address; no personal information or game data is sent. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store. Those platforms have their own privacy policies governing downloads, purchases, and platform-level data, which are outside our control. We encourage you to review:

8. Data security

Other than feedback you voluntarily send us (Section 4) and voluntary leaderboard entries (Section 5), we do not collect or store your information on any server, so there is virtually no personal data held by us that could be exposed in a data breach. Game data stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security measures.

9. Your rights

Other than the feedback you may have voluntarily sent us (Section 4) and any leaderboard entry you chose to submit (Section 5), we do not hold any of your personal information, so there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of the game data stored on your device: you can clear it at any time by resetting your progress within the App or by uninstalling the App. If you have sent us feedback or submitted a leaderboard entry, you may ask us to delete it at any time using the contact details in Section 12.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the Australian Privacy Principles (under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we collect virtually no personal information, most of these rights are not engaged — but you are welcome to contact us with any questions.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
